Maerim Elephant Sanctuary Full Day

A wonderful experience without riding, hurting, or exploiting these beautiful animals. The Maerim Elephant Sanctuary was born out of a love and compassion for the largest, most majestic beasts to walk the planet. Sadly, in our home of Thailand, and the surrounding countries of Mynamar, Laos and Cambodia, some of these extraordinary animals live in captivity, are used for heavy labor on logging farms and even hunted in the wild. After witnessing the horrors the elephants experienced, our founder, Busabong “Pui” Kuetkong, started the sanctuary so that she could rescue as many elephants as she could from the awful environments and conditions they endure.

We look forward to welcoming you into our family at MaeRim Elephant Sanctuary, different from and not to be confused with Mae Rim Elephant Home.

• Pick up at your hotel at approx 9:00 AM. – 9:30 AM.
• Drive approximately 45 minutes from Chiang Mai city to Maerim elephant sanctuary.
• Arrive and change into traditional mahout clothing.
• Greet the elephants with your own basket of bananas.
• Play with our elephant family as you learn about their behavior and past.
• Enjoy a mud spa and play with them in the sand.
• Relax in the sun by the swimming pool.
• Special Enjoying lunch or dinner by cooking “Thai Noodle Soup” by yourself !!
• Help us forage for elephant treats.
• Walk in the jungle with our elephants along a stream surrounded by nature and local farms.
• Enjoy bathing with elephants and playing in the sand.
• Say goodbye to our elephants and change clothes.
• Leave the sanctuary at approx 4:00 PM.
